A scenic excursion in the natural reserve of Po di Volano, that covers about 386 acres between the little village of Volano and the seashore. We explore the pinewood, the wetlands and the Nazioni Lake, following the path through the vegetation and looking for the deers, the Po Delta’s landmark. The deer is a mammal from Turkey, belonging to the Cervidae family. From decades it has been one of our local symbols. You can easily spot a deer in the night or, on warmer days, at the dawn while bathing at the beach. An extraordinary and funny experience that allows us to discover recent sandy shores (thanks to the deposit of marine sands and the retreat of the sea) and spot some groups of deers. During fall you can hear their roars while male fight over female deer. The starting point is Lido Pomposa towards Lido Nazioni while following a cycle path leading to the entrance of the pinewood’s natural reserve, accompanied by a local expert local friend. With its unmistakable appearance, the deer will be the real protagonist of the excursion. Then back to Lido Pomposa.
